    2018 Election – Drop off your completed Ballot Kits now!

    Completed Ballot Kits must be returned to the Township by 8:00 pm on October 22, 2018. The last day to mail back your ballot kit to guarantee timely delivery for the upcoming municipal election has passed. Ballot kits should now be delivered directly to the Township.

    You don’t have to wait! Avoid lines and waiting on Voting Day by dropping off your completed Ballot Kit at the Township Offices, 31940 Highway 3, anytime the offices are open, 8:30 am-4:30 pm, or in our afterhours drop box. For more information, visit our Vote-by-Mail page here .

Junior Fire Chief

The Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services are looking for some Junior Fire Chiefs for a day! The contest is open to Grade 4s in the Wainfleet community. All you need to do is design a poster or write a story that relates to this years’ Fire Prevention Week theme "Hear the Beep Where you Sleep". All entries will be judged and a winner will be picked from each of the 4 schools.

You will have the opportunity to:JuniorFirefighter1

  • Visit the Fire hall and Town hall
  • See all the equipment that Firefighters use
  • Ride in a fire truck
  • Have lunch with the Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Officer
  • Do official fire business
  • Meet local dignitaries

The winning entries will be used to help promote fire safety in the community.

All entries must be completed and turned in to Town hall by Friday, September 25, 2015. Only those chosen will be contacted.

Entry forms are available at Town hall, on the Towns’ website www.wainfleet.ca and have also been distributed to the local schools.

Annual Book Sale of Canadian Federation of University Women Welland & District Chapter will be held at the Welland Fairgrounds, Building B, 1100 Niagara St. N., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Great bargains on books, CDs and DVDs, children’s books, games, puzzles and special collections. Proceeds go to university scholarships for female graduates of all 8 local secondary schools and to community projects. If you are a resident of Port Colborne or Wainfleet who is without health insurance and with a physical condition that would benefit from physiotherapy or group exercise (Seniors Exercise, Back & Core, Walk & Stretch – open to everyone), then you can access services through Bridges Community Health Centre, Port Colborne site, at no cost.

Call now to schedule a physiotherapy appointment or to register for a group exercise class at 289-479-5017 X2421.  Group classes start the week of July 20th.
