Staff have prepared Community & Development Staff Report CDS-002/2022 which will be considered by Council at their regular meeting on May 10, 2022. Community & Development Staff Report CDS-002/2022 reviews all of the public comments received through the public consultation process for the draft Short Term Rentals By-law.

Wainfleet Central Fire Station Breaks Ground

Just in time for Emergency Preparedness Week, the Township of Wainfleet’s new Central Fire Station took its first step toward being realized this morning at a special ground breaking ceremony at the building site on Highway #3, just west of the main intersection at Chambers Corners.

At a special meeting held Friday, April 8, 2022, Wainfleet Council unanimously passed a motion approving the award of the required tender that
will see its new Central Fire Station begin construction in the spring of 2022.

2022 Drainage Program Open House

The Township of Wainfleet will be holding its Annual Drainage Program Open House to provide Wainfleet residents with information related to municipal drains and their scheduled maintenance in 2022. Township staff will be on site to answer questions about the scheduled maintenance.
Also featuring staff from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, presenting on the Big Forks Creek and Beaver Creek Flood Plain Mapping Project.

Wainfleet Council Passes 2022 Budget

Wainfleet Council passed its 2022 municipal budget at a special meeting held on March 22, 2022.
With previous budgets aimed at tackling debt management and an ever widening infrastructure gap faced by many Ontario municipalities, Council has positioned itself well to meet the Township’s budgetary needs while keeping rates lower than in past years.
